2d3 to provide enhanced video processing capabilities to Insitu’s solution
OMG plc, (LSE: OMG), the technology group providing image understanding products for the entertainment, defence, life science and engineering industries, announces that 2d3 Sensing, the Group’s defence and aerial business, will supply Insitu, Inc. (“Insitu”), a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, with Tungsten, 2d3 Sensing’s digital media management and exploitation software development kit (“SDK”).
Tungsten will be integrated into Insitu’s solution, Insitu Common Open-Mission Management Command and Control (“ICOMC2”), which allows users to access multiple video streams simultaneously from an unmanned aircraft in real time. Going forward Tungsten will play an integral role in ICOMC2’s motion imagery infrastructure.
This agreement marks the latest between the two companies in a series of product integrations dating back to 2009 and further cements the strong and longstanding relationship that 2d3 Sensing has with Insitu.
Insitu’s Program Manager for Advanced Ground Architectures, Andrew Hayes, said:
“2d3 Sensing’s Tungsten SDK will provide an additional and unique set of powerful video processing capabilities that will be used throughout our ICOMC2 ground control software. Over the years, 2d3 Sensing has consistently been responsive to our engineering requests and has provided a capable, stable, and performance optimized solution. We are very pleased with the services 2d3 Sensing has provided to Insitu.”
Nick Bolton, CEO of OMG commented:
“We are excited that 2d3 Sensing continues to work with Insitu. Together our capabilities offer the most advanced motion imagery solutions possible in the unmanned aerial system field.
“ICOMC2 will use Tungsten as part of its solution to seamlessly manage increasing demand for data to be captured from multiple and different systems. Tungsten’s cross platform solution specialises in pulling together this captured data and allows users to simultaneously access multiple video streams. We look forward to further developing our relationship with Insitu in the years ahead as we continue to make advancements in the unmanned aerial system field.”
